NewsPulse — Privacy Policy
NewsPulse shows headlines from news publishers and lets you read the full article on the publisher's own page. This policy explains what happens to your information.
Summary
- There is no account and no sign-up.
- The app asks for no runtime permissions at all — no location, no contacts, no storage, no camera, no microphone.
- Your chosen cities, saved articles and reading position are stored only on your phone.
- The app has no server of its own. The developer never sees what you read.
- Headlines are fetched directly from each publisher's public feed, and full articles open the publisher's own page.
What is stored on your device
- Cached headlines — the most recent articles from the feeds you follow, so the app opens instantly and works when you are briefly offline.
- Saved articles you chose to keep.
- Preferences — the cities and categories you selected, and your theme.
All of this lives in the app's private storage. Android Auto Backup is disabled, so it is not copied to Google Drive by the app. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
Fetching the news
NewsPulse reads each publisher's public RSS feed directly from your phone over an encrypted connection. There is no middleman server of ours in between.
This means the publisher's servers see the ordinary details of any internet request, including your device's IP address and the fact that a feed was requested. NewsPulse sends no name, no account, no device identifier and no advertising identifier with these requests.
Which feeds are requested depends on the categories and cities you have selected, and that selection never leaves your phone — the app simply requests the feeds it needs.
Reading a full article
Tapping an article opens the publisher's own web page inside the app, in a standard web view.
From that point you are on the publisher's website. That site can set its own cookies, run its own analytics and show its own advertising, exactly as it would in your normal browser. The publisher's privacy policy applies, not ours. NewsPulse does not alter, strip or inject anything into their page.
NewsPulse does not copy article text onto any server, and does not republish publishers' content. It shows the headline and a short snippet from the public feed, and links you to the source.
Advertising
NewsPulse shows ads from Google AdMob on its own screens. Ads are never placed inside a publisher's article page. Which articles you read, save or search for is never shared with AdMob.
AdMob may collect and process the following to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud, sent encrypted in transit:
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location
- interactions such as app launches, ad views and taps
- diagnostic information such as app performance
- device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and the app set ID
Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's own settings.
Versions of this app distributed outside Google Play contain no advertising at all. Those builds do not include the advertising ID permission and never contact AdMob.

Information we do not collect
There is no account, no analytics on your reading, and no sale of data. The developer does not receive your article history, your saved items or your city choices.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. News content is written for a general adult audience and is not filtered or age-rated by this app.
Deleting your data
Clear saved articles and cached headlines from the app's settings, or uninstall the app to remove everything. Because nothing is stored anywhere else, there is nothing further to request.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
